A new Sci-Fi show entitled 'Moon ...Hello there

A new Sci-Fi show entitled 'Moon Quest' recently premiered in the Manchester Festival Fringe. The show was well-received and the recurring feedback from both various reviewers and audience members alike was as follows -

1. Fundamentally, the themes, ideas and characters in 'Moon Quest' are good and the show has real potential.
2. The script could do with developing in places to make it tighter (which is quite normal following a first-staging of a new piece).
3. The production needs a bigger budget for costumes, props, staging and effects to convincingly create a 60's/70's sci-fi feel.

Point 3. is the issue that bedevils so many artistic products in getting of the ground; finance. 'Moon Quest' is an ambitious project which was always going to need financing to be done full justice.

We are planning to stage a fully-developed re-vamp of the show in the Spring next year at a Manchester theatre with a view to a regional tour and looking at different ways of financing this. One way is to Crowd fund and we have started a campaign, offering free tickets for the show next year in return for quite modest donations. We would be very grateful if you would consider please drawing this to the attention of your members.

The link for the our Crowdfunding project is https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1244804848/moon-quest?ref=user_menu/

thanking you

kind regards

John Waterhouse

Casagua Productions
www.casagua.com

Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18066602460794511449noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5004347419191387667.post-56606409374183174212016-05-16T15:17:50.683+01:002016-05-16T15:17:50.683+01:00"Oryx and Crake" may well fall short of ..."Oryx and Crake" may well fall short of some readers' expectations for "a Margaret Atwood novel." It's a bit unique as it's Australian, and it's dark, dark near-future stuff. It's kinda like Trainspotting meets Really Deep Science. On the cover the author describes it as "Slipstream and hard-SF", which is probably about right. I've not quite read anything like it. Not all the stories (it's got five) are brilliant, but a couple are and the rest are just good. Not a bad ratio!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5004347419191387667.post-70492790792707148752014-10-27T03:08:09.170+00:002014-10-27T03:08:09.170+00:00I have been studying your weblog site for a while ...I have been studying your weblog site for a while Clara BushAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06224290931156464011noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5004347419191387667.post-79946517033313487712013-01-07T10:01:00.159+00:002013-01-07T10:01:00.159+00:00How about local author James L Talbot's novel ...How about local author James L Talbot's novel The Dark Place? If so, I was thinking of coming to the December meeting, as I wouldn't have time to read the Diana Wynne Jones book, and Asimov seems like an author I should try and read. I'm a fan of science fiction and fantasy on tv and film, and enjoy reading fantasy (two of my favourite books coming from this genre) , but but I'm new to the science fiction genre in books.

Anyway, from what I've read on this blog, it seems to be an interesting book group. Would it be okay if I came along to the December meeting?

HelenHellsandBellshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09236661870507064501noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5004347419191387667.post-44272469808356341472011-10-17T22:11:41.822+01:002011-10-17T22:11:41.822+01:00Hey Glyn
